Ex-Navy Chief Heads Anti-Graft Body

Islamabad: Former Navy Chief Admiral Fasih Bukhari of Pakistan has retired from his position as new head of anti-corruption National Accountability Bureau adopted in the country (NAB).

President Asif Ali Zardari, made him despite objections raised by the parties of the country, the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Zardari consulted before the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, through a letter, in accordance with applicable law.

In response, the opposition leader had made procedural objections, said the president of a group of names for the key position to make a real consultation should be offered.
