Like previous years Fitarana rates for Eid-ul-Fitr 2019 have been revealed by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman.
Zakat ul Fitr or Fitrana is an obligatory charity which Muslims are obliged to pay at the end of Ramzan. According to Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) Saqah-e-Fitr can be given as flour, barley, date, raisin or in their equivalent prices.
Fitrana Type | Fitra | Fidya (For 30 days of Ramzan) | Kaffara (for 60 poors) | Kaffara Qasam |
Wheat | Rs. 100 | Rs. 3,000 | Rs. 6,000 | Rs. 1,000 |
Grains | Rs. 400 | Rs. 12,000 | Rs. 24,000 | Rs. 4,000 |
Dates | Rs. 1,600 | Rs. 48,000 | Rs. 96,000 | Rs. 16,000 |
Raisins | Rs. 1,920 | Rs. 57,600 | Rs. 115,200 | Rs. 19,200 |
Cheese | Rs. 2,940 | Rs. 88,200 | Rs. 176,400 | Rs. 29,400 |
The amount of Fidya, Kaffara or compensation for those who miss their fast due to health conditions and compensation for breaking your promise are also based on the prices of flour, barley, date or raisin. The rate may differ from one city to another, and from one country to another.

It is observed that the rates of Zakat al-Fitr for this year are higher than the Fitra rates for 2018.
Mufti Muneeb recommended that people should pay the amount according to their financial stability because wheat is the least amount for the fitrana.
Sadqa Fitr is considered as a purification for the fasting person from idle and obscene speech, which helps to feed the poor. Scholars believe it must be paid before the Eid prayers otherwise it will be considered a normal charity rather than Fitrana.
