Karachi: Renowned Female Shia scholar Tayyaba Khanum Bukhari has forced to leave Pakistan amidst continuous threats to her life. Tayyaba stated in one of the programs aired in a private channel that she had attempted numerous times to contact Rana Sanaullah through her coordinator, who left numerous messages and calls, but there was no response. Rana Sanaullah managed to contact her weeks after she had shifted abroad and that also to say that he had read her messages.
She also informed that she had also tried to contact various other government personalities as well as her car had also been attacked. Intelligence agencies had also reported that her life was in danger. She further stated that on getting no response, she ultimately decided to move abroad in order to protect herself.
Tayyaba expressed her anguish on the government’s indifferent attitude of failing to act. She said that the government could no longer be trusted as it would only condemn acts of terrorism while doing nothing.
Tayyaba is among the respected scholars of the Shia’s. The government’s negligence on her matter is regretful, as she also stated that her home was still under threat and that police was still not responding to her complaints of threats.
