Karachi: One of the most eminent film actor of his time, great comedian, perfect entertainer Safirullah Siddiqui ‘Lehri’ commonly known as ‘Lehri’ has died in a private hospital on Thursday, local media reported. According to the media reports, Lehri was suffering from a constant illness and was on ventilator from the fast several days.
Earlier in the midst of August, Pakistani actor was shifted to ICU after his health deteriorated in the local hospital. According to the sources, the doctors discharged him from the ventilator today morning to see if he gets normal.
The deceased was regarded as one of the pioneers of Pakistan Film Industry. His professional career began in the 1950s and lasted until the 1980s. His first film was Anokha that was released way back in 1956 and the last film Dhanak got released in 1986. Since his long prolific career ended, he witnessed a dark period of his life in face of economic or health issues.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad has expressed severe grief over his death and have appealed the people to for his forgiveness and the success in the life hereafter.
