Functions of Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination are as follows:
- To develop better understanding and coordination between the Federal Government and the Provinces in economic, cultural and administrative fields.
- To promote uniformity of approach in formulation of policy and implementation among provinces.
- To discuss policy issues emanating from the provinces which have administrative or economic implications for the country as a whole.
Fahmida Mirza was born on 20 December 1956, she belongs to a political family of Sindh. Fahmida Mirza married to Zulfiqar Mirza, she has 2 sons and 2 daughters. She completed her schooling from St Mary’s Convent in Hyderabad and received MBBS degree from Liaquat Medical College.
Fahmida Mirza’s political career was started in 1997 when she joined Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and was elected to National Assembly of Pakistan in General Elections of 1997. Then in General Elections of 2002 and 2008 both she was re-elected to National Assembly of Pakistan.
After that in March 2008, she was selected as 18th speaker of the National Assembly.
In 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced his federal cabinet and Fahmida Mirza was nominated as Minister of Inter Provincial Coordination.
