Social media has totally changed the world, and is changing the trend of communication among the people around the world day by day. Internet especially social media is also rocking in Pakistan since 2005. In January 2014, approximately one million Pakistanis had joined Facebook. The figure raised to 12.6 million active users per month by the end of Jan 31, 2014. During year 2014, females users were more than male users. However, overall figures of male users are still high as compare to female users and the ratio is 70%:30%. Over 15,406,065 users have been recorded who are fan of fashion pages; 11,807,950 are following electronic pages; 10,165,673 to telecom pages; 9,269,147 fan on beauty pages and 9,010,833 fan of food pages. At present, 2.9 to 3.2 million domestic Facebook users are university graduates, of which 2.1 to 2.3 million are males and 0.78-0.86 million are females.
OLX Pakistan, Mobilink, Ufone, Nokia Pakistan and Intel are the top five brands while Samaa TV, Express News, Zemtv.com, Masala TV, and HUM TV are the top five media pages. Social Customer Care is raising in Pakistan. Moreover, the most socially focused area on the Facebook is the telecom sector.
