Karachi: The Assistant Secretary and Nazim Pilgrim & Ummah, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Abdur Rasheed Baig has demanded of the government to exempt elderly people from Biometric System in Hajj and Ummah process. In a statement issued here on Monday, Rasheed Baig said that the elderly people were facing difficulties and hardships in travelling to the far flung areas for fulfilling the bio-metric requirement, adding that it was also an extra burden on their pockets.
He further said that the some countries have got exemption from Saudi government in connection with the bio-metric system for their elderly people in performing Hajj and Ummah.
He urged the government to appeal the Saudi government for getting exemption from bio-metric system for the elderly people, so that they can perform the religious rites with ease.
