In Pakistan, few years ago a student Ali Nawazish got a record 22 As in A-levels in one year which shows that this country is not short of talented people but the point is how to channel these talent in a right direction.
Almost 30 education boards are responsible for conducting exams of SSC and HSC in their premises. The first thing to be done is that there should be one education board and experts of this sector must be taken on board to form a proper and up-to-date education syllabus.
O-levels boards, Aga Khan Board and all other boards must be finished as because of these boards, the rich and poor gap has widened. One who has money in Pakistan has the choice of getting good education where as the poor are suffering.
Education in schools, colleges and universities is running short of proper knowledge. In schools, students must be taught as how to become good citizens by teaching them civic education.
During my graduation (in computer science), I was surprised when I went through my syllabus as even installation of Windows was not in the syllabus and after completion of graduation there were many students who didn’t know how to install Windows. The course should be planned in such a way that students’ interest is maintained and more and more seminars, workshops and lectures by qualified intellectuals are scheduled for them.
In most countries (includes US, Europe and Middle East) schooling days are far more than Pakistan. Because of different holidays, students here lack concentration and suffer.
In a nutshell, if education is given priority in Pakistan, the youth of this country has it in them to change the fate of land in 10 to15 years.
