Islamabad: A low intensity tremor jolts the Country Capital, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Gilgit and several other adjoining areas on Thursday, sources informed. However, the exact magnitude of the earthquake is yet to be ascertained by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to the sources, the quake also strike several areas of Punjab province and the Khyber agency including Faisalabad, Dir, Hangu and others.
Following the earthquake, the locals ran out of their homes in panic. However, no casualties have been reported till now. Rescue team is on alert as the wave of quakes is already underway from past several weeks.
Update: The exact magnitude of the earthquake was said to be 5.7 on the Richter scale.
