Dubai: A Dubai-based group plans to further fritter away country’s treasure in constructing inventive and arty building projects as it now plans to construct the $1 billion ‘Taj Arabia’ on the model of original ‘Taj Mahal’ in India.
The new inventive structure in Dubai will be a replica of the Taj Mahal, a report in local newspaper said on Friday.
The ‘Taj Arabia’ will encompass a 300-room five-star hotel including seven Mughal architecture-themed buildings consisting of residential and retail elements in FalconCity of Wonders, Emirates 24/7 reports.
The infrastructure of the project is all prepared and the Link Global Group is determined to finish the project by 2014, report further said.
“The project will have a gold jewellery souk, wedding boutiques and a banquet hall to house 3,000 people. It will also have bars, eateries and lifestyle outlets,” the report quoted Arun Mehra, the director of the company.
The new monumental project will be three times bigger than the original Taj Mahal.
