North Waziristan: Drone attack has killed six suspected militants here in North Waziristan on Thursday morning. According to sources, the drone strike targeted a vehicle and a house in Doga Madakhel, the area in Dattakhel in which 6 suspected militants were killed reportedly. The drone fired 2 missiles. On the other hand, the Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam, has not confirmed the drone attack, stating that there is no confirmation of such an attack in North Waziristan tribal region today.
During the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam said that Pakistan condemned drone attacks which were against Pakistan’s sovereignty and the violation of international laws. The spokesperson further said that Pakistan was already fighting against terrorism and such US drone attacks caused make this war more complex.
It is pertinent to mention here that US drones violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and international laws on June 12th, 2014 when they targeted militants’ hideouts in which 16 suspected militants were killed reportedly. On the other hand, US drones again violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and international laws soon after the operation Zarb-i-Azb had been initiated. In this attack, US drones aimed at six suspected militants on June 18th, 2014.
On the other side, Prime Minister has visited Karachi in order to preside over a meeting concerning Karachi law and order situation in which security officials have briefed the Premier that some of the changes have been made in Karachi operation because the operation Zarb-i-Azb is going on. According to the officials, actions are being taken in city’s sensitive and suburban areas whereas IDPs migrating to Karachi are being checked, adding that some of the IDPs have been taken into custody for interrogation.
