Dr Shahzad is among the leading eye specialists in Pakistan. He is a specialist in advanced cataract Surgery, Glaucoma surgery, corneal transplant Surgery, and Medical Retina and Squint surgery. He has received his education from Lahore in 1969 and then went to UK for further studies and got a specialization. He stayed in UK for 9 years and trained in Oxford and Reading before becoming a consultant in Brighton in 1979.
Dr Shehzad has also worked as a Dean of Ophthalmology at the King Faisal University Hospital. He however came back to Pakistan and put his potentials at use at his homeland. He settled in Karachi in 1985. He joined Akhtar Eye Hospital at that time and Agha Khan University Hospital and developed the Ophthalmology department. Shehzad Eye Clinic was created in 1992 as a part of his ambition. His efforts bore him success and his clinic was upgraded to an eye hospital in 1994.
