Karachi: Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, elder sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, an innocent victim held up in imprisonment for last decade in America, and leader of Aafia Movement Pakistan sent a legal notice to Ms. Asiya Ishaq, information secretary of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) giving details that questioned the citizenship of the victim.
In a program conducted by one of the local channels, a TV host talked about the American held Aafia, whose release demands have had been made several times nationally. Ms. Ishaq, the guest, spoke that Aafia is an American citizen. Such wordings by a notable figures of the country, incited anger in Fouzia and hence she sent notice to the information secretary.
The notice bore statement of Advocate Syed Abdul Waheed saying that Fauzia is a senior Medical Doctor Neuro-physician, Diplomat American Board of Psychiatry and Neurologist and a consultant Neurologist.
It further gave details of the previous position of the petitioner who was former director of Epilepsy program at Sinai hospital in USA.
Dr. Fauzia through the legal notice has demanded Asiya to prove Aafia as a US citizen; either pay Rs 10 crore for her wrong statement, mere an allegation at the innocent held captive or pay unconditional apology to affect the international campaign motive that demands release of Aafia Siddiqui.
