Lahore: Dachi Express (the camel-ride) on Mall Road has set to entertain the children, as the City District Government of Lahore introduces the camel ride as part of their Dilkash Lahore Project. An official said that CDGL has initially allocated Rs. 5 the ticket charge for the ride that would take the riders from Istanbul Chowk to Charing Cross. The objective of the initiative is to inculcate knowledge among children and young adults about the cultural heritage that exists in the city.
Knowing about the architecture and the preserved British –era infrastructure and the newly developed ones would help the youngsters to appreciate and learn about the art and culture of the city. The famous Mall road of the provincial metropolis is known for its various historical British buildings.
The depilated buildings have been reconstructed under this program. As the official sources say, the project had been started last year, September with a budget of Rs 100 million.
