Mir Hamza is the first class cricketer of Pakistan and currently representing Karachi in Pakistan super league (PSL) as a part of Karachi kings. Previously, he has played for Karachi Dolphins, Karachi Whites, Pakistan All Star XI and Pakistan Under-19s. He is an effective left arm medium bowler and left hand batsman.
Before leaving for Pakistan Super League 2016, AwamiWeb conducted his Interview in which we discussed about his personal stuff, Cricket career and future goals. Talking to AwamiWeb, Mir Hamza told that his forefather was from Quetta but about 50 or 55 years earlier there family migrated to Karachi and settled their business here.
Left Arm Medium fast bowler Mir Hamza started playing cricket in zone 6 Karachi at Pakistan cricket club. At that time he was a metric student. After that he was selected for under -17 and then for under -19 and played for district.
Currently he is studding mass communication from University of Karachi and willing to complete his graduate with good scores.
His first class debut was against Lahore team at Karachi national stadium on 2012. He consider first class cricket as Pakistan’s toughest cricket where experience is most important.
In answer to the question about his natural swing he said that no bowler tells about his natural swing but he can swing ball on both sides. He said that the real fact is even he don’t know his natural swing side.
He describe that the fitness is the most important thing for a fast bowler because in Quaid-e-Azam trophy players have to play eleven matches and for that, extreme fitness is required. So, in his off session of 6 to 5 month, they spend most of their time practicing and taking care of their diet.
He said that when the session starts and fast bowlers take wicket, they feel relax and at that time chances of injuries are higher.
Future Goals and Expectations from Pakistan Super League 2016
Mir Hamza said that Pakistan Super League 2016 is a great opportunity for youngsters because it is providing exposure to international cricket. He added Spending times with seniors and international players will be a good experience and they can learn professionalism in cricket and also their confidence level will increase with their guidance.
Discussing his favorite dishes, He said that previously, he was a Mutton Karahi lover but now he is focused on maintaining his diet that’s why currently his favorite meal is boiled vegetables.
Mir Hamza’s Most Memorable Performance
Mir Hamza joyfully told AwamiWeb that recent two day match against England XI at Sharjah ground is his best performance yet where he was able to take four wickets in extreme hot weather and on non supporting pitch.
His message for the youngsters is that some time they can face rejection but that doesn’t mean they should stop trying, it doesn’t matter that they are having a good or bad time they just have to do hard work and wait for their opportunity because Allah support hard working people. They should believe in their work.
His views about current under-19 world cup is that he have seen current under-19 team and he believe they all are very talented and can bring world cup to Pakistan.
