London: “The game of Cricket is possibly to be introduced in the 2018 Common Wealth games, however it relatively depends upon International Cricket Council, we will definitely be successful if we get positive indications from there. I believe that encouraging developments would surely come forward from ICC in this regard.”
These views were expressed by Deputy President Common Wealth Games Federation Bruce Robertson while talking to the press after the federation meeting.
He told that there is a huge possibility that at the initial level cricket is will be included in 2017 Common Wealth Youth Games that are scheduled to be played in Saint Lucia. This will pave the way for Cricket participation in the Mega Event.
It is to remember here that Cricket was included in the Commonwealth games in 1998 held in Malaysia for the very first —and, to date, the only—time in the history.
