Karachi: Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and ex- Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan has emphasized on environmental protection. They were addressing the big gathering of corporate companies and environment, health & safety professionals at the 1st International Conference and awards on Environment, Health & Safety on June 11th, 2015 at a local hotel organized by The Professionals Network.
Commissioner Karachi has acknowledged the contributions by the corporate sector in the fields of environmental protection, health, safety & security. He also mentioned that the resources available with the government are not sufficient to provide the required services to the people of this metropolitan city but still the efforts to serve the karachites in best possible way are going on. He says that public and private partnerships are very important to eradicate the poverty from this country.
He also applaud the sincere efforts of the organizers of this event to provide a big platform to Corporate companies and other related departments to discuss and identify the real issues and to find a better solution for the betterment of this country.
Senator Haseeb Khan says that we all have to realize our responsibility towards the society and have to contribute as per our resources. He criticized the government of not taking serious steps towards the improvement of the common man of this country. He says that it is the corporate sector who is contributing towards the betterment of Environment, Health & Safety.
He says that these kinds of events are much needed to acknowledge the efforts and contributions by the corporate sector and the NGO’s who are genuinely working on grounds. He says that the contributions of pharmaceutical sector in environmental protection, health & safety awareness are remarkable and need appreciation.
Ghulam Qadir Thebo has mentioned the reforms in police department. He mentioned that it is the responsibility of the Police department to provide a conducive and a sustainable environment to business community in order for them to do their business in ethical way and to attract the local and foreign investors.
He also mentioned that police department is doing all their efforts within the limited resources to improve the law and order situation and in a result the cases of ransom has been reduced significantly. He says that there is a noticeable reduction in target killings compare to the previous year. The efforts will continue to improve the law and order situation and the police will do their best to provide the sustainable environment for Karachites.
