Karachi: Well known comedian and stage artist Sikandar Sanam who provided the reason to smile and laugh to the people of the country but now suffering from heinous cancer disease has no one behind him who could take some responsibility to inject some life in him. According to the media reports, Sikandar Sanam has come back to his residence without been treated enough in the hospital due to the lack of funds and economic shortage.
Despite consistent assurance of his treatment from the Sindh government, the behavior of the government was chicanery that made him leave Agha Khan Hospital and coming back to his residence.
According to the sources, the Ministry of Culture Sindh didn’t issued any instructions to the hospital management to treat the National artist on behalf of government after announcing full support a number of days back.
The leading actor in the comedy re-mades of Indian film Tere Naam, Munna Bhai MBBS and many other Sikandar Sanam was facing serious economic pressure after he spent almost a month in Aga Khan Hospital without any financial backing of government or any other sources. Due to the economic burden on his shoulders, decided to re-shift to his house.
The family and colleagues of Sikandar Sanam have demanded the provincial and federal government to pay heed towards the subject and make necessary arrangements for the treatment of talented comedy actor.
The sources told that about 65 Lac rupees are needed for the operation and regular treatment of Sikandar, for which the family and friends contacted Sindh government initially and now they are going to meet high officials of Federal government to look into this matter without delay.
