Karachi: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Price in Karachi and across the Sindh has surged in 2%, which is being considered a pre-Eid Shock for the consumers, due to the fear in rise in price all CNG stations have witnessed a huge rush in across the province especially in the country’s biggest city Karachi and Hyderabad.
This new increased price comes after the two days closing of CNG stations by the owners, remember, Compressed Natural Gas stations have been closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and CNG will not be available today-Fridays- according to media sources.
Now, the CNG is available at Rs. 77 per kg, and it has been available at 75 Rupees before the announcement of hiking the price by the CNG Station owners.
It is believed that Deregulation of CNG in December 2016 has paved the way for the CNG Station owners to enjoy the free hand rights in playing with the price of CNG on consumers’ demand, as we are witnessing. Bear in mind, CNG was available for PKR. 67.50 Per kg when it had been deregulated, but now?
A CNG dealer commented on the issued saying that they were free and they had raised the price individually while the Associations did not played any role in that regard.
However, it has been noted clearly that the dropping price in petrol and raising price in CNG has attracted the consumers to shift form Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) consumption to petrol consumption.
Instead of the high price of CNG in Sindh, the association claims that the CNG Prince in province Sindh is still cheaper than other provinces, which claims the CNG in Punjab costs Rs.80 per kg and Rs. 80 to 80 costs in KPK.
