CNBC Pakistan Assessment

CNBC Pakistan’s initial broadcast began on November 15, 2005. around 250 employees work with CNBC Pakistan.
Its headoffiice is located at the Techno-city Corporate Tower in Karachi. CNBC Pakistan is owned by Vision Network Television Limited, a Pakistani Company; CNBC Pakistan has also access to the global CNBC network. Slogan of CNBC Pakistan is The World Leader in Business News.

Samaa News is sister channel of CNBC Pakistan.

Strengths of CNBC Pakistan

CNBC Pakistan transmits live programming from different locations and most of these programs have live audience and therefore the matters of grass root levels are discussed. Politicians or concerned persons are also invited in the program which gives opportunity people to discuss and put questions directly to them.

Business News is very much highlighted in the channel which helps the viewers to know about the business news at any time.

Most of its talk shows are telecast from roads, grounds and other places or at that places where any incident has happened in recent time.

The channel is already poised as the most important media outlet in Pakistan for the economic sector, reflecting the sustained growth and opportunities in the nation’s financial markets.

Weakness of CNBC Pakistan

CNBC Pakistan channel programs cover most of the news from Karachi. Most of the shows of the channels showcase the problems of Karachi. The channel is a very big one and also it has strong financial back up but most of its shows are on Karachi issues except of some programs.

The channel also does not cover much of the International news and also it does not cover the sports news as it has to be done as sports specially cricket in Pakistan is very much liked and people want to watch about these news.

Issues of other cities are not much highlighted in the channel and very occasionally some issues are addressed in the programs.

Doosra Pehlu

The show is hosted by famous media person Mujahid Barelvi & Ehtesham ul Haq. The programs showcase politicians, technocrats and others to discuss the issue or the topic of the day.

Doosra Pehlu has done many famous shows. One of its best shows was when Karachi Electric Supply Company CEO Tabish Gahur was invited in the program and many questions by general public were thrown at him.

Mujahid Barelvi was host at Indus TV Network before moving towards CNBC Pakistan.

Sarak Kinarey

The show is one of those shows which are telecast from roads. Local people participate in the show and express their problem.

Many local and neighbourhood problems have been addressed in the show and have also been resolved because of the show.
