Colombo: West Indies opener Chris Gayle ruined the Australian bowling attack with his massive hitting tendencies. Gayle made his place back in the National team after a long period. Due to certain allegations and conspiracies against him, he was not in the squad of the team for all three formats i.e the Test Match, the One Day Internationals and theT20.
Nevertheless, he played the Sri Lankan and Bangladesh premier leagues and entertained the audience and cricket lovers with his massive striking capabilities. The tall man is included in the side as a specialist all-rounder, as he can be used as an off-spin bowler in the team.
Gayle opened his account by plundering a sensational half century against the Australians in his first match of the T20 World Cup 2012. He took an attacking start and continued to blast the Australian seamers and as well as the spinners. He scored 55 runs of 33 balls with the help of four sixes and three fours.
