Recently Minister of State for Finance Salim Mandviwala disclosed that case registered against the owners of Baldia Town has been withdrawn. Shahid Bhaila and Arshad Bhaila were the owners of ali enterprises. Salim Mandiwala while talkig to media said that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf promised the office bearers of Karachi Chamber of Commerce (KCCI) that the case will be withdrawn againsy the factory owners therefore case has been withdrawn.
Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan telephoned PM Raja Ashraf and have insisted that case against Baldia Town factory owner should not be withdrawn. Governor said that withdrawing the case will be injustice to all the affected families.
It is to mention here that more than 250 workers were killed and hundreds injured when fire broke out in Baldia Town factory on 11th September. Families of these workers were compensated and were given money but now withdrawing the case against owner is not justified as it will send a message that any factory owner (whose factory catch fire and worker got killed) can escape from these type of incidents. The case should be registered against and court should decide the fate of these owners.
