Human rights activists have revealed that the army have raped and killed several Rohingya Muslims and burnt 430 homes. They also released pictures of dead civilians including a small baby and burnt corpses which were killed by Mynamar’s forces.
The current wave of atrocities against Muslim population was started after 9 police man were killed in clashes on Bangladesh’s border, it is unclear whether it was an attack or a fight with smugglers.

Myanmar government doesn’t accept rohingya Muslims as their citizens and have apartheid like laws for muslim population. They are not allowed to enroll in government schools and have no access to government hospitals.

To minimize their population the government have also restricted their movements and they are not allowed to marry without government permission for which they have to pay huge taxes.
Because of such laws and oppression the half population (1.5 million) have left the country and are living as refugees in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
People are again leaving villages in thousands to find a safe place, but Bangladesh have closed it borders saying it cannot accept more refugees.
