Well Known Journalist and Chairman of the Pakistan cricket Board; Najam Sethi has made the revelation that the ICC Big Three had offered to form a Big Four with Pakistan. He said this at the Lahore Airport before departing for Dubai. He also said that it was favourable for Pakistan to play India but the tours with every other nation had been finalized except India.
Najam Sethi further expressed that it was his objective was to re establish Pakistan-India cricketing ties though it was proving difficult at this moment. He said that every team wants to play against India and Pakistan would also benefit financially if it played series against India.
Najam Sethi had also previously advised the PCB against protesting against the creation of a Big Three in the ICC as Pakistan had been left isolated in the end. He had always said that politics should not be a priority in cricket, instead a policy of self benefit should have been followed by the then chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf.
Speaking to the media PCB chairman Najam Sethi also spoke about the recent debates about the role of the captain in team selection and he said that the captain knew better than to interfere in the selection boards matters. He said that the captain and board should focus on their respective roles and not meddle with each other.
On other hand, former Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Zaka Ashraf has rejected these Big 4 offers claims of Najam Sethi.
