Alannah Roberts becomes mother by giving birth to a baby through her frozen eggs which were frozen for 14 years, this is the longest time any eggs were kept frozen and then defrosted.
She was only 15 when she was diagnosed with blood cancer, which was diagnosed at an early stage and doctors were able to save her life after 6 months of chemotherapy.
After two years at the age of 17 she was again diagnosed with cancer and doctors suggested that her eggs should be frozen because excessive chemotherapy treatment causes women infertility. She was once again successful in fighting cancer but it came up again.
Doctors suggested radiation which meant that she will lose her fertility and the frozen eggs become the only hope for her becoming a mother. After successful treatment she started a normal life, in 2016 she and her boyfriend planned to start a life by getting married.
Her seven frozen eggs were taken out and defrosted but only two eggs survived the process, after implantation one embryo was miscarried but the other survived which after 38 weeks came into the world as ‘Faith Roberts’.
