Previously it was believed that babies start recognizing human faces after birth but a new study has revealed that they start learning the process from mother’s womb.
A new study claims that unborn child from mother’s womb react to light which is projected towards them in a human face dimension, if the light is reflected in any other way they child doesn’t reacts. The study was published in scientific journal Current Biology.
By the help of high quality ultrasounds they observed that fetuses react to the light if it was in a human shape. This is a marvelous achievement to understand the development of visual systems in children.
Professor Vincent Reid from Lancaster University led the research said “We have now shown that the fetus can distinguish between different shapes, preferring to track face-like over non-face-like shapes.”
