Pakistan’s former all rounder Azhar Mahmood and left armer Wahab Riaz shared nine wickets between them as Kent defeated Middlesex by two wickets in Clydesdale Bank 40 Group A at Canterbury on Tuesday, according to information received here.
Middlesex won the toss and decided to bat first and were bowled out for 263 runs, thanks to Dawid Malan who scored 107 from 113 balls. Middlesex were in a sight of big score as they were 239/2 in 35 overs. But Pakistan’s duo Wahab Riaz and Mahmood grabbed last eight wickets and bowled out Middlesex. Wahab who has not been picked in Pakistan squad for Zimbabwe series finished with five for 46 and Mahmood bagged four wickets for 52.
In reply Darren Stevens (65), Sam Northeast (57), Azhar Mahmood (49) and Wahab made a quick fire 12 not out to take Kent to victory with three balls to spare.
