Karachi: The Court Of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) announced that the appeals of the twp Pakistani Cricketers Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt will be heard in February. Both the cricketers were ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to spot-fixing.
Both the players filed the appeal against the ban imposed by the ICC. The official website of the CAS confirmed the dates of the hearings. The hearings of Mohammad Asif will take place between 6-7 February and Butt’s hearing will be conducted on 8 February.
The two cricketers including as bowler Mohammad Amir was banned by the ICC after a test series played between Pakistan and England back in August 2010 at Lords Cricket Stadium. Captain Butt was banned for ten years, Asif for 7 years and fast bowler Amir was banned for five years.
