Islamabad: Army Chief General Ashfaq Prvez Kayni said that the efforts to create a gap between the Armed forces of Pakistan and the people effects deeply the national interest of Pakistan. He claimed that mo individual or institution can alone decide the national interest of the country.
The Armed Forces create their strength from the bedrock of the public support. Therefore all steps to create a wedge between the forces and the people undermine the national interest of Pakistan. National security is useless without this bond. National Interest develops with the consensus, and all the people of Pakistan have the right to express their feelings. The constitution provides complete framework for it, he added.
As a nation, we are passing through a difficult phase. We are taking a critical view of the mistakes done in the past and seeking for a better future, he further informed.
