Re-known retailing website, Amazon.com to facilitate its customers with speedy delivery has opted for Prime Air, a pilotless aircraft. This news came after the CEO, the world’s largest Internet retailer Jeff Bezos announced of this new on Sunday on popular American news channel, 60 minutes.
A live video transmission on the CBS TV reported the working of the aircraft, also known as octocopters. As soon as the customers hit the online buying of the products at Amazon, soon the aircraft would carry the things to the destination. Packed up in yellow buckets, the aircraft will fly over the air from the Amazon’s center.
The company stated that the technology would take several years to consolidate its capacity for delivery. Rules and regulations from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) would further assist in deploying the commercial use of the equipment, it further added.
The company has showed confidence of the aircraft to take over the transportation process like the mail trucks in the upcoming several years. Complying with commercial aviation standards shall be kept in mind for those who wish to pursue the drone aircraft.
Drone missiles have had been used by US in Afghanistan and Pakistan for past several years. It had earlier been expressed that the technology can be utilized for commercial purpose. But, permission from FAA stands as hurdle in bringing effect to the practice.
However, this would result in loss to FedEx and UPS, the major delivery portals used by Amazon.
