Karachi: On the recommendations of World’s best umpire Aleem Dar, Pakistan Cricket Board have decided to make it mandatory for all its Elite Panel Umpires to undergo an eye and hearing tests, sources told Tuesday.
The decision has been taken in a better interest of Pakistan Umpiring standards, Dar and Asad Rauf have been handed over the assignment to take certain steps in order to improve standard of umpiring in Pakistan.
While talking to media Aleem Dar told that the umpires have to go through these tests as we want to ensure that we get best umpires next season.
“Our first choice was to bring in former cricketers who know the game and younger people whose reflexes are sharp,” he added.
In a report regarding umpires, Dar has advised the match-referee report to be made supreme and stop the practice of captain handing.
