Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman took part in the fly-past at the Pakistan Day Parade with an F-16 jet. The day was marked by the new Air Chief Marshall’s flight which was also covered from within the cockpit. This was the first time that a Go-Pro was installed inside the plane and the flight was recorded from on ground and within the cockpit as well. The video was posted on Facebook by Aperture Sensation.
The video showed the Air Chief strapping up and getting into his F-16 and then taking off while skillfully maneuvering the plane and navigating the 7+Gs forces while taking the aircraft through a vertical climb with Aileron rolls. The 75th Pakistan Day Parade was made rememberable, as this was the first time that the current PAF Chief led the fly past.
Sohail Aman was appointed as the chief Marshall this month after former Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt’s retirement. Aman is a graduate of Combat Commander’s School, Air War College and Royal College of Defense Studies (UK). He has conducted a wide range of operational, training and command assignments. He was commissioned in the GD (P) branch of PAF in November 1980. He also has a Master’s degree in International Studies from Kings College UK and Strategic Studies from Air War College.
