If someone whom you loved leaves you, if some dear to you dies, if your heart is broken then the damage is as much as heart attack, reveals a new study of the sensitive issue.
Broken heart syndrome is not very common but thousands of people each year suffer from it. It is also known as takotsubo syndrome and mostly the victims are women because they are more sensitive.
Emotional stress can cause release of hormones which damages the heart muscle. This can be caused by a death, because of divorce, a rejection from your partner or betrayal from a friend.
Previously it was thought that the problem is because of the release of hormones by the new research published in American Society of Echocardiography reveals that the muscles are damages.
The research was funded by British Heart Foundation and was done by an experienced team of Aberdeen University.
