Lahore: School will remain close in all over Punjab in against passage of Punjab Private Educational Institutions Promotion and Regulation bill 2015.
All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) and the Pakistan Education Council (PEC) collaborate in protest against the bill 2015. This protest will continue on 8th and 9th March.
Protesters claims that many schools will not be able to bare the financial damages cause by this law and with this law they cannot continue their operations. They also claimed that the new law is stopping them to provide good quality education to the next generation.
According to this ordinance owner of every institute must register their institute with the Registering Authority. No private institution can charge fee during academic year 2015-16 at the rate higher than the fee charged during the academic year 2014-15 without any appropriate justification.
Earlier in the meeting between Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and representative of private schools owners Education Minister said that some clause might be dropped.
Representative of the APPSF said that on meeting with Education Minister Rana Mashhood, they have put their reservation against the bill, especially on the matter of stopping schools to rise the fees.
