11th edition of Cricket World Cup will start from 14th February in Australia and New Zealand. Pakistan will play its first match against arch rivals India on 15th February at Adelaide Oval. Lets look at the performance of Pakistani cricketers in Australia and New Zealand where Pakistan cricket team will play its matches.
Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq has only played one World Cup which was 2011 World Cup. He scored 248 runs (49.60 average). Boom Boom Shahid Afridi has played four World Cups (1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011). He has scored 209 runs (11.61 average) in all World Cups & has taken 28 wickets (19.60 avg). Afridi was highest wicket taker in 2011 World Cup as he took 21 wickets.
Younis Khan has played three World Cups (2003, 2007 & 2011) and has scored 306 runs (23.53 average) in all World Cups. Ahmed Shehzad has played only 2011 World Cup in which he scored 44 runs (8.80 average) in five matches. Umar Akmal has also played only 2011 World Cup in which he scored 240 runs at an average of 48.00. Left arm bowler Wahab Riaz also played 2011 World Cup in which he took eight wickets (19.75 average) which includes 5/46 against India in Semi-Final which Pakistan lost.
Haris Sohail, Ehsan Adil, Nasir Jamshed, Mohammad Irfan, Rahat Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Sohaib Maqsood, Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah will be playing their first World Cup.
