KARACHI: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has staged sit-in since last day at Gurumandir Karachi against the arrest and the extra judicial killing of its members. A large mob is present in the sit-in of ASWJ whereas the chief of the party, Aurangzeb Farooqi is also present in the sit-in.
The roads bound to Gurumandir have been blocked due to the sit-in and traffic has jammed a lot whereas the traffic police have blocked the roads before governor house and chief minister house. The traffic police have directed the citizens to use alternate routes for travelling.
On the other hand, Aurangzeb Farooqi yesterday addressed to the participants of the sit-in that sit-ins across the Sindh would be staged on important roads today (Wednesday). He said if our demands were not fulfilled or we were not replied positively, we would stage sit-in outside the governor house. He added if we were disappointed, we would start our protest across the country in the third step.
Allama Aurangzeb Farooqi said that none of our demands were intransigent, neither were we saying that our party workers be released who were arrested, if they were found guilty or were involved in any crime, they should not be released but they should be brought into court.
It is pertinent to mention here that the protests by ASWJ were started a few days ago near passport office after a party worker of ASWJ was shot dead by the police.
