Islamabad: A detail of the tax returns by 1072 senators, members of national and provincial parliaments has been announced by FBR. According to the directory of FBR around 100 public representatives didn’t submit their tax returns. Seven elected members have paid tax of over 1 Crore. Syed Owais Qadir Shah of Sindh Assembly is on leading position with 18,747,549 rupees followed by Senator Owais Khan Afridi and Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood with tax returns of 17,991,618 rupees and 12,940,990 rupees respectively.
Others who paid taxes of more than 1 Crore included Sheikh Fayyaz Uddin, Noor Salim Malik of KPK Assembly, Chaudhry Javed Arshad Warraich and Sheikh Alauddin of Punjab assembly. Interestingly some of the high profile representatives including the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid very less taxes.

Moreover the tax returns of CMs of provincial governments were as follows: CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif 3,644,003; CM KPK Pervez Khattak 300,494; CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah 33,724 rupees.

Media favourite and so called one man opposition these days Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed paid tax of 58,410 rupees. Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain submitted 1,824,382 rupees to the national tax pool.
