Lahore: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that President Zardari should resign immediately so that fair elections can be hold, he said on Tuesday. While addressing to the press conference held at Lahore he said that the president is incapable of holding fair elections since he holds and exercise power over two offices and such a figure cannot ensure transparent election.
He spoke of these words after the SC issued order for the arrest of the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf who is accused in cases of corruption. This order came right after the long march ended at Islamabad, that arose wave of happiness among the supporters of “change” after more than 25,000 participants joined the long march at the country’s capital, organized by Minhaj ul Quran Chief Tahir ul Qadri.
The sport cum politician who does not hold any seat in parliament is considered as symbol of change and is immensely supported by the youth of the country. He stressed that change is not possible without fair elections. Mr. Khan also called his party workers to prepare themselves for the elections that are expected to be scheduled in mid-May over looking the political conditions of the country.
