Lahore: The member of Provincial Assembly Faiza Asghar who is affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League – Q has resigned from her assembly post over dual nationality case issue being heard in the Supreme Court chaired by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, media reports informed Tuesday.
According to the report, Dr. Faiza Asghar was elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008 against one of the seats reserved for women through PML-Q party ticket and held the post of Special Education member before the resignation.
She resigned due to dual nationality as she hold the American nationality along with the NIC of Pakistan. She is an American Board qualified pediatrician and was functioning as Chairperson, Bureaue of Child Protection and Welfare, Government of the Punjab.
