Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has refused to meet the United Nations mission that is on a visit to Pakistan to overview the missing person’s case being summoned in the Supreme Court, local media reported Tuesday.
According to the details, two letters were written by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Supreme Court registry branch which stated that UN mission is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of government of Pakistan. The UN working group has expressed deep interest in meeting the CJP, it further stated.
In reply, a letter was written to Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the SC which held the view that the missing person’s case is being heard in the Apex Court and justice demands CJ not to speak in this matter until the final verdict is made.
