ISLAMABAD: Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Asif Yasin Malik has said that the dialogues with patriotic militants at political level would be beneficial for the country, efforts are underway to restore government writ in North Waziristan Agency and it would be restored on right time.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Corps Commander Peshawar said that dialogues with Taliban should be held on political level, adding that dialogues with those militants who are patriotic and not challenging the constitution would be beneficial for the country. He said we are trying to restore government writ in North Waziristan and would succeeded soon.
He said that we are observing the situation closely, adding that there is no evidence regarding the presence of Chinese militants in North Waziristan; meanwhile he said that we are defending our country and we would not allow anybody to use our soil for ill will.
Replying to a question he said that the militants of Haqqani network fighting war in Afghanistan and they think that foreign troops occupied Afghanistan and it is their right to do according to their thinking, they are not sub ordinate to anybody, he added.
He said that Haqqani network is not present in Pakistan and none of any prominent figure is killed in the drone attacks.
He said that Pakistan says that if anybody had information about Haqqani network they would share it with Pakistan and we would take action against them.
