LAHORE: Dengue has not yet shown any decrease in its spread and has claimed eight more lives in Lahore on Monday. The toll now stands at 184 in Lahore while 203 in Punjab. According to health department, seven patients lost their lives in Mayo Hospital; meanwhile one patient was died due dengue virus in Jinnah Hospital on Monday. The number of patients affected from Dengue in Lahore is 13,250 while in Punjab it has reached 15,500.
80 years old Muhammad Khushi, 40 years old Nasir, 50 years old Zarina, 70 years old Hassan, 30 years old Amina and 50 years old Shahnaz were died due to dengue fever on Monday. The health department said that fumigation is being done while awareness campaigns are also being organized. Medical experts from Indonesia are training the doctors and paramedical staff regarding the treatment and control of the epidemic.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired the dengue control meeting and ordered for strict action against doctors and paramedical staff who are not taking part in the dengue control campaign.
