South Sudan´s parliament speaker announced South Sudan as independence state. South Sudan will become world´s 193rd state and it split Africa´s largest country in two.
Oil producing South Sudan has become an independent state as it was promised in a 2005 north-south peace deal to end two decades of civil war.
According to The northern finance minister the new Republic of South Sudan contains around 75 per cent of the country’s known oil reserves, depriving the Khartoum government of more than a third of its national revenues.
In Northern Sudan and Darfur (a region in western Sudan) most of the people are Muslims, whereas the in Southern Sudan most of the people are Animist and Christian.
Now it is hoped that decades over war will be finished and people of both sides will finally live with peace.
