Mountaineer Hassan, 48, who lives in Skardu, has also climbed five mountains of over 8,000 metres in height including K2, Nanga Parbat, and Broad Peak. He is the second Pakistani who has hoisted Pakistani flag on Mount Everest.
A veteran mountaineer on Thursday became only the second Pakistani after Nazir Sabir (who reached the summit in 2000) to scale Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, local officials said.
He arranged the required funds with the help of President Asif Ali Zardari to travel to Nepal.
