Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan decided on Wednesday that about four million overseas Pakistani’s will not be able to exercise their right to vote from the country where they resides, local news media reported.
The decision has been taken due to the several reasons, few of them being legal hurdles and the unavailability of an adequate voting mechanism for such a huge number of people.
The 4 million overseas voters spread across 106 countries won’t be able to cast their vote because of inadequate voting mechanism, media reported.
The Election Commission of Pakistan held the view that if they wish to vote, they will have to come to Pakistan to cast their ballot and choose their desired candidate.
It was also decided during the meeting that the polling would be held again in those polling stations, reserved for women, where the turn out would be less than 10 percent.
