National Savings have changed the scheduled for the lucky draw of Rs. 40,000 Prize Bond from 1st December and now it will be held on the 4th December in Faisalabad.
It was announced by the regional spokesperson of Directorate General of National Savings that the date is being changed because of the National Holiday on 1st December on account of 12th Rabbi-ul-Awal. This day is celebrated as the day when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in this world.
The next two days, 2nd & 3rd December, are falling on Saturday & Sunday on which government offices are closed so the lucky draw was scheduled on Monday 4th December. The timing of the lucky draw are 10 am and the lucky winners will receive the following amount:
1stPrize: Rs. 7 crore (70 million)
2nd Prize: Rs. 2.5 crore (25 million)
3rd Prize: Rs. 500,000
This is not the first time that any lucky draw was postponed and rescheduled. It mostly occurs because the Islamic calendar is based on the sighting of lunar moon so no exact dates are known for such public holidays.
Usually National Savings hold the lucky draw on 1st and 15th of each month in different cities of Pakistan. If any public holiday is announced then the lucky draw is postponed to the next possible day.
