Health Ministry has revealed that more than 38 million people are suffering from Diabetes in Pakistan which is alarming because it accounts for more than 18% of the total population.
The statistics were revealed after the health ministry conducted a survey to know the details of diabetes in Pakistan. It was also revealed that more than 50% of the population never conducted a blood test, though millions among them are suffering from diabetes yet they don’t know.

Globally more than 480 million people are suffering from diabetes. In 2015 it killed more than 1.6 million people while another 2.2 million were also linked with diabetes.

Many people in Pakistan are unfamiliar with the risk associated with Diabetes, many people from rural areas even don’t know what diabetes is which increases the risk of deaths.
What Is Diabetes?
Diabetes is the disease when your body fails to produce enough insulin or when it fails to effectively use the insulin which controls the sugar level in blood. There are two types of diabetes. Type-1 diabetes is when your body fails to produce enough insulin while type 2 is when your body fails to effectively use the insulin produced.
