The second youth festival has been organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi on 23rd May, 2015 in collaboration with the ‘I am Karachi’ initiative. The festival will continue till 30th May, 2015. The announcement was done by the secretary of the council, Ahmed Shah, at a press conference. He also added that the registration for the event would last till May 16 after which week-long workshops would be held in the different fields of art — theatre, music, photography, declamation etc.
Ahmed Shah also informed that the festival held last month was a success and it made the council realize that its better to have workshops earlier so that the young graduates are prepared before entering the final stages of the festival. The festival targeted those people who were deprived of such programs due to economic and geographical reasons. Equal opportunities will be provided for everybody in this way, irrespective of the class they belonged to.
60 per cent of the country’s population was based on youngsters. ‘The young’, stated Mr Salahuddin,’ did not need to be told what to do, but it was necessary that confidence was instilled in them.’ There will be two age groups in the festival.
- Group A: 13-20 age.
- Group B: 21 to 29 age.
The forms are available online at their official website.
