Each country has specific laws to deal with black money, remittance and illegal transfer of wealth which includes restriction of carrying cash while travelling from one country to another. Similarly carrying cash through Pakistani airports was restricted to Rs. 3000 but now it has been increased to 10,000.
According to the Press Release by External Relations Department the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has revised the cash limits imposed on international travelers. Now international travelers are allowed to carry Rs. 10,000 anywhere from Pakistan except India for which the limit is Rs. 3,000.

The cash inwards limit is Rs. 3000 from anywhere to Pakistan except India for which the limit is Rs. 500. According to the press release this was done to facilitate the travelers because the cost of goods & services has increased in recent years. The revision of hand carry cash limit is being praised by passengers.
These are the limits for Pakistani currency notes, the limits for foreign currency & total money may differ. Violation of these limits will result in legal action by customs and other concerned departments.
